Jack's Waterfront

If you ever find yourself strolling along the picturesque Victoria Parade in Torquay, there’s one spot that’s hard to miss - Jack’s Waterfront. Set right on the seafront, this cozy eatery is more than just a place to grab a bite - it’s a local staple with serious character. Whether you're out for a leisurely brunch or hunting for a satisfying dinner with a view, Jack’s has the vibe, the food, and the flavors to keep you coming back.

What immediately sets Jack’s apart from other seafront restaurants in Torquay is its laid-back atmosphere mixed with a solid American diner-style menu. It’s got that nostalgic charm - think checkered floors, vintage signage, and friendly staff who actually seem to enjoy what they’re doing. Whether you’re a solo traveler, a local foodie, or a family looking for a casual meal by the water, Jack’s hits the mark on all fronts.

Let’s talk food - the real reason most people end up bookmarking Jack’s after one visit. Their burgers in Torquay are borderline legendary. The Black and Blue Burger, for example, blends smoky BBQ with rich blue cheese in a way that makes it stand out from typical burger joints. Then there’s the BBQ Pulled Pork Burger, messy in the best way possible - sweet, tangy, and ridiculously satisfying.

Not in a burger mood? That’s fine - the Chicken Wings are crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, making them a crowd favorite for sharing (or not). For something a little different, the Halloumi Wrap is a great vegetarian option, and the Philly Steak is another solid pick if you're after something hearty and cheesy.

And for anyone craving a proper British breakfast, their Full English Breakfast is as classic as it gets. Add to that their American Breakfast, which features pancakes, bacon, eggs, and all the good stuff, and you’ve got both sides of the Atlantic covered.

It’s impossible to talk about Jack’s Waterfront without mentioning their milkshake menu. The Banana Milkshake is a silky, sweet dream, and the Bubblegum Milkshake brings a fun, retro twist to the table. Paired with one of their fluffy waffles or a slice of something sweet, it’s a dessert lover’s paradise.

For a more traditional treat, the Devon Cream Tea served here is fresh, well-balanced, and perfectly accompanied by a view of the harbor - ideal for those mid-afternoon breaks.

What makes Jack’s so appealing isn’t just the food, though that’s a big part of it. It’s the whole experience. The location is unbeatable - right on the waterfront, offering panoramic views of the bay. The prices are fair, especially considering the portion sizes and the quality. And the team running the place? Super chill, always ready with recommendations, and genuinely welcoming - something you don’t always find in busy tourist towns.

It’s also worth noting that Jack’s caters well to families, couples, and even solo diners. There's a casual energy here that suits a lazy Sunday breakfast just as much as it does a quick midweek lunch stop. Plus, the menu includes gluten-free and vegetarian-friendly options, which gives it that inclusive edge many people are looking for today.

If you're the kind of person who likes to explore Torquay food spots beyond the typical pubs and fish and chips shops, Jack's Waterfront is a solid choice. It's one of those places where you can kick back, eat well, and feel like you're part of the neighborhood - even if you're just passing through.

This breakfast spot is a total game-changer. Fluffy pancakes practically melted in my mouth, and the crispy bacon was pure perfection. The eggs and sausages were seasoned just right. Even the smoothies were delicious, the ideal way to kickstart the day. I'm already planning my next visit!

Family of 6 ate, drank and sang along with a great 80s soundtrack. Burgers, subs, kids meals, wings, hotdogs, pancakes and waffles. Service welcoming and efficient, wide variety of drinks and authentic American diner ambience and decor. We loved it and would highly recommend everything. Cracking view if the port and close enough to the beach for a stroll.

Absolutely fantastic service! I made a few changes to my burger and someone from the kitchen came out to speak to me to make sure they were getting it 100% right. Ive never had a kitchen check before and he was incredibly friendly about it. The food was delicious! I would highly recommend and will 100% be going back.
